Travelling to Trento

Trento is located in the North Italian Alpine Region, on the freeway\railway that connects Verona (I) to Innsbruck (A) and Munchen (D).
Please note that train tickets must be stamped with the yellow machines available at the platform (binario) entrance before getting on the train. In buying your ticket you should specify the arrival station (Trento), the train you are planning to take (InterCity, Eurocity trains require a supplement, that is more expensive if purchased on the train) and the class: 1^st (prima) or 2^nd (seconda). First class is about 60% more expensive.

Coming by plane, you can arrive to:

• Milano (230 km.). Two airports: "Linate" (LIN) mainly for European flights, "La Malpensa" (MXP) overseas. Bus services to Milano-Centrale railway station, takes about 25 minutes from Linate and 1 hour and 15 minutes from La Malpensa. From Milano-Centrale railway station, trains to Trento via Verona take 2 hours and a half. Some trains are direct; if not, change in Verona. Passengers continuing to Trento by rail can purchase tickets for bus and train at the railway ticket office in the airport upon arrival: in Linate (national arrivals) at travel agency STAM (open hours 8.00-22.30 every day), in Malpensa (arrivals) at Bus and Train Tickets Office (open hours 8.00-22.30 every day)
• Venezia (153 Km.). "Marco Polo"(VCE) airport serves international flights. Bus service to railway Venezia-Mestre lives every 20\60 minutes and it takes 20 minutes. Trains from Venezia-Mestre railway station to Trento via Verona take 2 hours
• Verona (90 km.). Daily flights to airport "Valerio Catullo" (VRN) from Barcellona, Frankfurth, London, Munchen, Paris, Wien, as well as from major Italian cities. The airbus service to Verona-Porta Nuova railway station leaves every 20 minutes and it takes 20 minutes. From there direct trains to Trento take 50 minutes. There is also a direct airbus from Verona Villafranca Airport to Trento Bus Station. Here below a detailed timetable:

An alternative is to fly to Munchen airport and proceed to Trento by train.

Trento is situated along the A22 Brenner motorway. You can also reach Trento by: S.S.12 Abetone and Brenner; by S.S.45 bis, Gardesana occidentale, from Brescia and by Gardesana orientale from Verona; from Milan by S.S.42 to Tonale and Mendola; from Venice by S.S.47 of Valsugana; from Vicenza by S.S.46.
