[SOA] BEA view on Composite Applications
"The majority of the benefits of SOA are realized when you assemble existing services into composite applications. Through greater levels of reuse and the added flexibility of process-based service choreography, composite applications can provide faster delivery of value to the business. However, the creation of applications from existing services requires a discipline not easily supported by traditional development tools and frameworks. Fortunately, WebLogic Workshop, the Java control architecture, and WebLogic Business Process Management (BPM) have been explicitly designed for making the consumption of existing services into business processes and web applications easy and intuitive."
BEA has a nice introductory material on SOA and composition.
