Plan-based Web Service Composition

"In this project, which was started in May 2004, we aim to investigate dynamic selection and composition of services in order to better assist users of web-enabled applications. The internet, especially the World Wide Web, is becoming a ubiquitous medium where web-accessible data and services contain a tremendous amount of information and problem solving capability. However, manual interaction with these services is not always feasible, especially in situations (contexts) where time, user interface capabilities or other resources are constrained. Hence we believe that a new method for software delivery is essential to use the web in a more competent manner. This new concept should liberate the user from tedious and time consuming tasks such as searching for Web services and ways to combine them in order to achieve a specific goal in a particular context.
